Paul Mescal is shedding light on the emotional experience of filming his latest project, Hamnet<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n During his appearance at the New York screening held at The Whitby Hotel on Friday, November 21, the 29-year0old actor sat down with Us Weekly. <\/em><\/p>\n While speaking the Mescal opened up about <\/em>the emotional scenes he filmed for Hamnet<\/em>, saying that the process wasn\u2019t nearly as heavy as audiences might assume.<\/p>\n \u201cDo you know what? This film probably looks heavier on the surface than it was [to shoot],\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Paul Mescal continued, \u201cObviously, there\u2019s heavy scenes that we got to shoot, but there was nothing [I did to unwind]. I don\u2019t have a ritual of going home in the evening and \u2014 I probably should, but I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s nothing that jumps to my mind,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Chloe Zhao\u2019s Hamnet<\/em>\u00a0revolves around the bond between Mescal\u2019s character William Shakespeare (Mescal) and his wife Agnes (played by Jessie Buckley) as they fall in love, marry and struggle after the tragic death of their 11-year-old son, Hamnet, which leads to the creation of Shakespeare\u2019s famous play,\u00a0Hamlet<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u00a0The Shakespeare-era historical drama -adapted from Maggie O\u2019Farrell\u2019s 2020 novel \u2013 will open with limited release on November 27 before expanding nationwide on December 12, 2025.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
