LOS ANGELES: Get ready to head back to the wasteland of the Mojave Desert.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cFallout\u201d star Walton Goggins is teasing that the show\u2019s second season will heavily channel the spirit of \u201cFallout: New Vegas\u201d, the video game\u2019s beloved spinoff.<\/p>\n Goggins, who plays the radiation-mutated gunslinger the Ghoul, revealed that the show\u2019s creative team plans to tap into the classic video game by introducing a fresh batch of characters, monsters and storylines when it arrives on Amazon.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s (season 2) honoring the game and the threats that they (the game creators) bring into this experience,\u201d said Goggins.<\/p>\n However, the team isn\u2019t just copying the game\u2019s blueprint.<\/p>\n For writer and co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who is known for co-writing the screenplay for Marvel Studios\u2019 \u201cCaptain Marvel,\u201d it was important to \u201cget it right\u201d when it came to taking elements from the game. She replayed \u201cFallout: New Vegas\u201d to find fun details to include for seasoned gamers.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s funny when you play, just random details like, \u2018Oh it would be fun to use this particular weapon or to encounter this particular creature,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n However, Robertson-Dworet chose not to bring in too many elements from the game into the series.<\/p>\n \u201cWe wanna always make sure that we\u2019re holding the hands of non-gamers and not overwhelming them with too much lore and too much canon and too much new tech,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n This approach impressed the cast, including co-star Frances Turner who plays Barb Howard, Cooper\u2019s wife and a high-ranking executive for a nefarious megacorporation called Vault-Tec.<\/p>\n \u201cI really look at it (the storyline) as a mystery,\u201d Turner said.<\/p>\n The second season of \u201cFallout\u201d continues in the wasteland of post-nuclear America. The Ghoul and Lucy MacLean, an optimistic Vault dweller played by actor Ella Purnell, continue searching for Lucy\u2019s father, Hank MacLean, played by Kyle MacLachlan.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Maximus, a knight of the Brotherhood of Steel, played by Aaron Moten, must navigate a new set of obstacles within his faction.<\/p>\n The series is based on the 1997 role-playing video game developed by Interplay Productions, which eventually spawned nine main games in the Fallout franchise, including \u201cFallout 76\u201d and \u201cFallout 4,\u201d along with spin-offs like \u201cFallout: New Vegas\u201d and \u201cFallout 3.\u201d
