Gwyneth Paltrow believed Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet had \u201cbad skin\u201d when she first met him on the set of Marty Supreme<\/em>, only to later realise she had been completely fooled by impressively realistic movie makeup.<\/strong><\/p>\n The lighthearted misunderstanding was revealed by Robert Downey Jr. during a recent Q&A, offering fans a behind-the-scenes moment that highlights just how convincing the film\u2019s transformation work really was.<\/p>\n Chalamet and Downey Jr. were speaking at a Q&A event for Marty Supreme\u00a0<\/em>at the DGA Theatre in Los Angeles on January 14 when Downey Jr. shared the story.<\/p>\n Recounting a conversation with Paltrow, he said she was genuinely surprised by Chalamet\u2019s appearance at the time.<\/p>\n \u201cPaltrow told me when she met you, she was like, \u2018Oh my God, I didn\u2019t know he had bad skin,\u2019\u201d Downey Jr. recalled, turning to Chalamet. He then added, with a laugh, \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018It\u2019s f\u2014ing makeup, Gwyneth\u2019\u201d.<\/p>\n The moment resonated even more because Paltrow herself had already admitted to the mix-up.<\/p>\n During a December 2 episode of\u00a0The Run-Through with Vogue\u00a0<\/em>podcast, the actress explained that the makeup was so convincing she assumed it was Chalamet\u2019s real skin.<\/p>\n She said, \u201cIn\u00a0Marty Supreme<\/em>, Timoth\u00e9e has pockmarks, and they made his eyes beady with contacts and glasses. And it\u2019s all makeup.
