Benny Blanco has opened up about one of the most unexpected details from his wedding to Selena Gomez.<\/strong><\/p>\n Months after the couple quietly tied the knot on September 27, 2025, in an intimate ceremony in Santa Barbara, California, Blanco shared that his longtime friend and collaborator Lil Dicky served as the officiant.<\/p>\n The music producer made the revelation during a February 26 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he and Lil Dicky, born David Burd, were promoting their new podcast, Friends Keep Secrets<\/em>.<\/p>\n Reflecting on the special day, the pair described their involvement in each other\u2019s weddings as deeply meaningful.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were heavily involved in each other\u2019s weddings,\u201d Burd explained. \u201cWe didn\u2019t each have a best man, but I officiated his, and he gave the speech from my male point of view at my wedding. It was great.\u201d<\/p>\n Blanco added, \u201cIt was incredible. Unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n Still, there was one small hiccup before Blanco and Gomez said \u201cI do.\u201d As Burd finalized his officiant speech, Gomez reached out with a request. According to Blanco, the singer asked that certain parts be removed to avoid overlapping with her own vows.<\/p>\n \u201cShe said, \u2018Hey, just make sure Dave doesn\u2019t say anything about this part or this part because it\u2019s part of my speech,\u2019 \u201d Blanco recalled. \u201cAnd that was the whole opening three minutes of his speech.\u201d<\/p>\n Burd joked that while he considered pushing back, he ultimately respected the bride\u2019s wishes. \u201cIt was her wedding,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Despite the last-minute edits, the revised speech was a success. \u201cIt really turned out great,\u201d Burd added. \u201cI\u2019m very proud of myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Though Benny Blanco did not officiate Burd\u2019s own wedding, he did take the mic at the reception and delivered a heartfelt speech.
