{"id":64477,"date":"2026-08-18T21:19:49","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T21:19:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/64477"},"modified":"2026-08-18T21:20:02","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T21:20:02","slug":"us-sec-proposes-long-awaited-crypto-rules","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/64477","title":{"rendered":"US SEC proposes long-awaited crypto rules"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>WASHINGTON \u2013 The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Tuesday proposed a new \u200bregulatory framework for crypto assets, the first \u200cmajor step under U.S. President Donald Trump\u2019s administration to give the industry the tailored rules it has long pushed \u200bfor.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The SEC\u2019s proposal would exempt certain crypto \u200bcompanies and offerings from U.S. securities rules, \u2060which should make it easier for crypto companies \u200bto issue tokens and raise money.<\/p>\n<p>The SEC\u2019s plan \u201cseeks to \u200bprovide crypto asset entrepreneurs and market participants with clear pathways to raise capital under the federal securities laws,\u201d Chairman \u200bPaul Atkins said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>It would allow \u200ba one-time exemption to issue up to $5 million in crypto \u200ctokens \u2060during a four-year period. It would also allow offerings of up to $75 million during each 12-month period, though issuers would still have to provide financial \u200bstatements and \u200bmeet regular \u2060reporting requirements.
