QUEEN Camilla has revealed that it was \u2018difficult\u2019 to hide the news of King Charles\u2019 cancer diagnosis from the public in early 2024. In a new film produced to mark the 30th anniversary of the cancer support organization Maggie\u2019s, the monarch admitted her visit to a cancer treatment Centre was emotionally draining.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Queen, who is the president of the charity, paid a visit to Maggie\u2019s new facility at the Royal Free Hospital in London on January 31 2024.<\/p>\n

While Prince Charles was already receiving treatment for cancer at this time, it was not yet known to the world \u2013 a announcement the public received five days later on February 5.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\u2018It felt so difficult.\u2019<\/strong>
Addressing Chief Executive Dame Laura Lee of Maggie\u2019s in the film about the visit, Camilla recalled it felt \u2018so difficult.\u2019 She said: \u2018Nobody could say anything at the time. I almost said something but I felt it wasn\u2019t the time to say it.\u2019<\/p>\n

Camilla revealed she struggled seeing the people at Maggie\u2019s and their relatives: \u2018I looked at everybody who was suffering and all the relations, and I think it made me realize even more how important these places were.<\/p>\n

While still receiving medical care for his condition, he has been able to maintain a consistent programme of royal engagements and official visits. Buckingham Palace has previously confirmed that the King responded \u2018exceptionally well to treatment.\u2019<\/p>\n
