LAHORE: The Punjab government has announced revised school timings for all public and private schools across the province.<\/strong><\/p>\n Punjab schools are set to follow a new routine as students and teachers return on August 24. The School Education Department has issued a fresh timing notification, revising daily school hours for single-shift, double-shift and girls\u2019 schools.<\/p>\n According to the official notification, the revised timings will take effect from August 24, 2026, and remain in force until October 15, 2026.<\/p>\n Schools will continue to operate five days a week, from Monday to Friday, while Saturday will remain a holiday in government schools.<\/p>\n Under the revised schedule, single-shift schools will open at 8:00am from Monday to Thursday and remain open until 1:30pm. On Friday, school hours will be from 8:00am to 12:45pm.<\/p>\n For morning-shift schools, classes will run from 8:00am to 12:30pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the morning session will end at 12:00 noon.<\/p>\n The evening shift will operate from 1:00pm to 5:30pm from Monday to Thursday. On Friday, the second shift will begin at 2:00pm and end at 5:30pm.<\/p>\n The notification also includes a 15-minute adjustment for girls\u2019 schools. Under the general arrangement, girls\u2019 schools will open 15 minutes earlier than boys\u2019 schools and close 15 minutes earlier.<\/p>\n However, Chief Executive Officers of District Education Authorities have been empowered to modify this difference where local circumstances require an adjustment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n The revised timings are not a temporary arrangement and will remain applicable until October 15, 2026.
