CAIRO: Two Israeli airstrikes in \u200bthe Gaza Strip on Sunday killed at least two people, including a 4-year-old boy, and wounded seven \u200cothers, Palestinian health officials said.<\/strong><\/p>\n One of the strikes hit a building in Zawayda town in the centre of the enclave and followed a warning by the Israeli army for the owners of the property to leave the area, residents said.<\/span><\/p>\n Medics said flying debris and shrapnel that spread for \u200bdozens of metres around had wounded at least six people, including the 4-year-old, Mohammad Abdel-Salam Taha, who was later \u200bpronounced dead at hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cThere is no ceasefire, there is nothing,\u201d said Abu Ahmed, a displaced Palestinian \u2060who was sheltering close to the building, which the airstrike reduced to a pile of mangled steel and concrete.<\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWe want \u200bsolutions, we want to live in peace,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n The second airstrike took place in the nearby Nuseirat refugee camp, the health \u200bofficials said.<\/span><\/p>\n Israel\u2019s military said it was looking into both strikes.<\/span><\/p>\n An October 2025 U.S.-backed ceasefire halted major fighting in the shattered territory, but it failed to end strikes by the Israeli military, which it said aimed to thwart attacks by Hamas and other Gaza forces.<\/span><\/p>\n The military \u200bsaid in a statement late on Saturday that it had struck and killed a senior Hamas military official, Sharif Al-Hasnat, in the \u200bcity of Deir Al-Balah. It said he was leading efforts to restore Hamas\u2019 \u201cunderground infrastructure\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n Hamas accuses Israel of violating the ceasefire and undermining efforts \u200cto implement \u2060a broader plan by U.S. President Donald Trump to end the Gaza conflict, which also includes Israeli withdrawals and Hamas disarmament.<\/span><\/p>\n More than 1,280 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since the ceasefire took effect last October, according to Gazan health officials, while the Israeli military says four Israeli soldiers have been killed.<\/span><\/p>\n In the Israeli-occupied West Bank, an Israeli man was stabbed and \u200bwounded by a suspect believed \u200bto be a Palestinian man, \u2060police and the Israeli military said.<\/span><\/p>\n Security camera footage distributed by the military showed a man waiting by a vehicle next to a main highway near Jericho before stabbing the Israeli man \u200bwhen he approached his parked car.<\/span><\/p>\n The suspect fled on foot, and Israeli soldiers were searching \u200bfor him, the \u2060military said.<\/span><\/p>\n Elsewhere in the West Bank, health officials said Israeli forces had shot and killed a 14-year-old boy, Islam Ajjouri, during a raid into Askar refugee camp near Nablus.<\/span><\/p>\n The Israeli military said it was looking into the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n The West Bank, home to 3 million \u2060Palestinians and \u200bsome 500,000 settlers, has seen a rise in settler violence and seizures of \u200bland and resources.<\/span><\/p>\nISRAEL TARGETS HAMAS DESPITE CEASEFIRE<\/span><\/h2>\n
