{"id":67383,"date":"2026-08-25T23:33:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T23:33:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/67383"},"modified":"2026-08-25T23:33:39","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T23:33:39","slug":"petrol-price-hiked-new-rates-notified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/67383","title":{"rendered":"Petrol price hiked, new rates notified"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD, August 25, 2026: The prices of petroleum products have been increased, according to a notification issued by Oil &amp; Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The petrol price has been increased by Rs1.12 per litre, taking the new petrol price to Rs343.10 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>The price of High-Speed Diesel has also been increased by Rs1.11 per litre. The new price of High-Speed Diesel has been set at Rs371.80 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>According to the notification, the revised petroleum product prices will remain applicable for August 26 and 27.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) in Pakistan approved an increase in the dealers\u2019 margin on petrol and diesel by Rs.1.34 per litre, in a move aimed at addressing demands from fuel station operators.<\/p>\n<p>The dealers\u2019 margin has been raised from\u00a0<strong>Rs.8.64 to Rs.9.98 per litre<\/strong>, with the decision taking effect immediately, according to the government.<\/p>\n<p>The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, has been briefed on the decision and he backed the increase.<\/p>\n<p>The ECC meeting was chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and was held virtually at the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n<p>Following the government\u2019s assurance, the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association postponed a nationwide strike planned for 15 August 2026.
