{"id":68022,"date":"2026-08-27T07:29:18","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T07:29:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/68022"},"modified":"2026-08-27T07:29:42","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T07:29:42","slug":"sohail-afridi-warns-of-possible-threat-to-imran-khan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/68022","title":{"rendered":"Sohail Afridi warns of possible threat to Imran Khan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi on Thursday expressed deep grief over the deaths of newborn babies in a fire at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad, and suggested that a similar incident could potentially have been used as a trap to target Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a statement, Afridi said the newborns who died at PIMS had neither participated in protests nor been involved in any conflict or political gathering.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese children could not even speak for themselves. There must have been negligence on someone\u2019s part,\u201d he said, calling for a complete and impartial investigation into the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Referring to Imran Khan\u2019s recent checkup to PIMS, the chief minister said, \u201cImran Khan was also brought to the same hospital a few days ago. Perhaps a trap had been laid for him as well, and they may have intended to kill him under the guise of an accident.
