Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held separate meetings with the leadership of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) and the management of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) in Karachi on Friday, reviewing key developments in Pakistan\u2019s petroleum sector, energy security, investment opportunities and ongoing reforms.<\/strong><\/p>\n During his visit to OICCI, the Minister met the Chamber\u2019s senior leadership, industry stakeholders and representatives of foreign investors. The meeting was also attended by prominent media representatives, who participated in discussions on developments, reforms and investment opportunities in the petroleum sector.<\/p>\n The Minister briefed participants on the government\u2019s efforts to strengthen exploration, modernize refining infrastructure and advance reforms across the petroleum sector. He highlighted the government\u2019s efforts for energy security, including bonded storage and strategic petroleum reserves initiatives.<\/p>\n \u201cOur objective is to build a petroleum sector that is more competitive, investment-oriented and responsive to Pakistan\u2019s long-term energy requirements. We are pursuing reforms across exploration, refining and downstream markets, while engaging closely with industry stakeholders to address practical challenges and create an environment that can attract substantial domestic and foreign investment,\u201d said Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.<\/p>\n OICCI members shared industry perspectives and remarked that consistency of policy and tax framework, along with transparency and adequate security, were important for strengthening investor confidence.<\/p>\n \u201cThe petroleum sector is critical to Pakistan\u2019s economic activity and investment ecosystem. Abdul Aleem, Chief Executive and Secretary General OICCI, underscored the importance of a predictable operating environment for foreign investors: \u201cFor foreign investors, predictability in the regulatory and commercial environment is essential for long-term investment decisions. Continued government-industry engagement and timely resolution of outstanding industry matters can further strengthen investor confidence and support investment in Pakistan\u2019s petroleum sector.\u201d<\/p>\n OICCI reiterated its commitment to continued dialogue with the government and relevant stakeholders on policies and measures that support investment, energy security and sustainable growth in Pakistan.<\/p>\n Separately, the Federal Minister for Petroleum held a meeting with the management of PSO at PSO House, Karachi.<\/p>\n The meeting focused on national energy security, supply chain resilience, strategic storage expansion and digital transformation. Discussions also covered measures to strengthen the country\u2019s fuel supply infrastructure and enhance the resilience of the petroleum supply chain.<\/p>\n The Minister commended PSO for ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply and appreciated the company\u2019s role in maintaining stability in the country\u2019s petroleum supply chain.<\/p>\n Ali Pervaiz Malik reaffirmed the Government\u2019s support for modernization of the petroleum sector and infrastructure development aimed at strengthening energy security and improving operational efficiency.<\/p>\n The Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening strategic storage capacity, enhancing supply chain resilience and leveraging digital technologies to improve efficiency and responsiveness across the petroleum sector.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
