{"id":69158,"date":"2026-08-30T02:13:57","date_gmt":"2026-08-30T02:13:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/69158"},"modified":"2026-08-30T02:14:03","modified_gmt":"2026-08-30T02:14:03","slug":"karachi-court-orders-sindh-govt-kwsc-to-pay-rs15m-over-girls-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/69158","title":{"rendered":"Karachi Court Orders Sindh Govt, KWSC to Pay Rs15m Over Girl\u2019s Death"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>KARACHI: A local court in Karachi on Saturday ordered the Sindh government and the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) to pay Rs15 million in compensation to the legal heirs of an eight-year-old girl who died after falling into an uncovered manhole, holding the authorities responsible for negligence.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The order was issued by Senior Civil Judge (West) Salman Amjad Siddiqui after hearing a compensation suit filed by the girl\u2019s parents through their counsel, Advocate Farrukh Usman, under the Fatal Accidents Act, 1855.<\/p>\n<p>The parents had sought compensation from the Sindh government and KWSC, alleging that their daughter\u2019s death was caused by the defendants\u2019 negligence and failure to ensure public safety.<\/p>\n<p>According to Advocate Farrukh Usman, the incident occurred in 2021 at Sher Muhammad Village near Mauripur Road.<\/p>\n<p>He said the girl, identified as Habiba, had gone outside to play.
