ISLAMABAD, August 31, 2026: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has revised petroleum product prices, increasing the petrol price by 77 paisas per litre, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n Following the increase, the new petrol price has been fixed at Rs342.79 per litre.<\/p>\n OGRA has also reduced the diesel price by Rs1.03 per litre, according to the notification.<\/p>\n The new diesel price has been fixed at Rs370.41 per litre.<\/p>\n Earlier, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held separate meetings with the leadership of the Overseas Investors Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OICCI) and the management of Pakistan State Oil (PSO) in Karachi, reviewing key developments in Pakistan\u2019s petroleum sector, energy security, investment opportunities and ongoing reforms.<\/p>\n During his visit to OICCI, the Minister met the Chamber\u2019s senior leadership, industry stakeholders and representatives of foreign investors. The meeting was also attended by prominent media representatives, who participated in discussions on developments, reforms and investment opportunities in the petroleum sector.<\/p>\n The Minister briefed participants on the government\u2019s efforts to strengthen exploration, modernize refining infrastructure and advance reforms across the petroleum sector. He highlighted the government\u2019s efforts for energy security, including bonded storage and strategic petroleum reserves initiatives.<\/p>\n \u201cOur objective is to build a petroleum sector that is more competitive, investment-oriented and responsive to Pakistan\u2019s long-term energy requirements. We are pursuing reforms across exploration, refining and downstream markets, while engaging closely with industry stakeholders to address practical challenges and create an environment that can attract substantial domestic and foreign investment,\u201d said Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.<\/p>\n OICCI members shared industry perspectives and remarked that consistency of policy and tax framework, along with transparency and adequate security, were important for strengthening investor confidence.<\/p>\n \u201cThe petroleum sector is critical to Pakistan\u2019s economic activity and investment ecosystem.
