The traffic police in Punjab have stepped up a crackdown on people riding motorcycles and driving cars without valid driving licences.<\/strong><\/p>\n Under the law, motorists are required to hold a valid licence to drive a motorcycle or car. Traffic police have said legal action is being taken against those who violate the rules.<\/p>\n The Punjab government has also simplified the process for obtaining a driving licence across the province.<\/p>\n Car driving licence fee<\/strong><\/p>\n For September 2026, the total fee for a one-year car driving licence has been set at\u00a0Rs.1,980.<\/p>\n The amount includes: Rs.150\u00a0test fee, Rs.1,350\u00a0licence fee after passing the test and Rs.480\u00a0courier charges<\/p>\n Motorcycle driving licence fee<\/strong><\/p>\n The total fee for a one-year motorcycle driving licence is\u00a0R<\/strong>s.980.<\/p>\n This includes: Rs.50\u00a0test fee, Rs.450\u00a0fee after passing the test and Rs.480\u00a0courier charges.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, DIG Traffic Punjab, Muhammad Waqas Nazeer has directed officials across the province to strictly check the driving licences of commercial vehicle drivers.<\/p>\n He said commercial vehicles would not be allowed to operate on Punjab\u2019s roads without valid driving licences.<\/p>\n According to traffic department officials, over\u00a060,000 people\u00a0were provided with facilities to obtain commercial driving licences across Punjab during the current month.<\/p>\n More than\u00a03,400 regular commercial driving licences\u00a0have also been issued, a department spokesperson said.<\/p>\n DIG Traffic Nazeer warned that strict action would continue against drivers operating goods and passenger vehicles without licences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
