A Bank of America vice president, Erin Piacenti, was killed in a stabbing at \u200bTimes Square on Monday.<\/strong><\/p>\n Piacenti, 32, was a vice president \u200cin BofA\u2019s business selection and conflicts unit, according to her LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are shocked and deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our colleague. \u200bShe was a valued teammate who will be greatly \u200bmissed. Our hearts go out to her family and \u2060all of her loved ones,\u201d the U.S. banking giant said \u200bin an emailed statement to Reuters on Tuesday.<\/p>\n New York City Mayor \u200bZohran Mamdani said on Monday in a press briefing that a woman carrying multiple knives stabbed two people in Times Square before police used a \u200bTaser and fired their weapons.<\/p>\n BofA\u2019s Manhattan office is located a \u200bstone\u2019s throw from Times Square at One Bryant Park. The bank also \u200chas \u2060other locations across New York City, the heartbeat of the American financial system.<\/p>\n Piacenti sustained stab wounds in the incident and was later pronounced dead, the NYPD said.<\/p>\n NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch added that \u200bthe attacks appeared \u200brandom and \u2060unprovoked.<\/p>\n \u201cThe investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Force Investigation Division,\u201d the NYPD said in a statement, \u200badding that the suspect, Pamela Cisneros, a 49-year-old \u200bwoman, was \u2060killed on Monday as officers responded.<\/p>\n The incident comes after the fatal shooting of a senior Blackstone executive last summer when a gunman, \u2060carrying \u200ban assault rifle, walked into the \u200blobby of a midtown Manhattan office building and opened fire.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
