KARACHI: A case has been registered against police officers and other individuals in Karachi over allegations of fraud, misuse of authority and an attempt to allegedly implicate a citizen in a false case to extort money.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the FIR, a purported site inspection report was allegedly prepared to implicate the citizen in a criminal case. Investigators also alleged that fake documents and false witnesses were arranged to strengthen the case.<\/p>\n

The FIR further states that Rs100,000 was allegedly transferred into the citizen\u2019s bank account, which was subsequently sought to be used as evidence against him.<\/p>\n

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) said its investigation uncovered alleged forgery and manipulation of official records during the police inquiry.<\/p>\n

Details regarding the alleged involvement of police officers have also been included in the FIR.<\/p>\n

Two former Station House Officers (SHOs) of Shah Latif Police Station, along with an investigation officer, have been nominated in the case.<\/p>\n

The allegations are subject to investigation, and the accused will have the right to due process under the law.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
