It will review the affairs and management of PIMS and submit recommendations on measures to improve the hospital\u2019s administrative and operational structure.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will present its recommendations in a report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who will take the final decision regarding the administrative affairs of PIMS based on the committee\u2019s proposals.<\/p>\n<p>The sources added that the PIMS Board of Governors would comprise individuals from different walks of life.<\/p>\n<p>The development comes amid growing differences between the Federal Ministry of Health and the Islamabad Healthcare Regulatory Authority (IHRA) following the PIMS tragedy, with five more members of the authority resigning in protest.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a class=\"title\" href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/police-complete-probe-into-deaths-of-14-newborns-at-pims\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Police complete probe into deaths of 14 newborns at PIMS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A total of nine IHRA members have now tendered their resignations, following the resignation of IHRA Chairman Dr Riyaz Shehbaz Janjua on August 28. Sources said the authority members decided to step down collectively in protest.<\/p>\n<p>The five members who recently resigned are Professor Naeem Malik, Dr Mati-ur-Rehman, Colonel (Retd) Dr Arif Maqsood, Kashif Zahoor and Asma Khalil. They have submitted their resignations to the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n<p>According to sources, the IHRA members were opposed to what they described as increasing control of the health ministry over the regulatory authority.
