KARACHI, September 7, 2026: The Punjab Forensic Science Agency has failed to unlock the iPhone of slain businessman Mir Raza, ARY News reported citing sources.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to sources, the Punjab forensic laboratory formally informed the investigation committee in writing that it was unable to access the iPhone.<\/p>\n The Apple Watch and iPhone will now be sent back to the investigation committee, sources said.<\/p>\n A few screenshots and messages were recovered from Mir Raza\u2019s Apple Watch. However, the material obtained from the watch was not considered significant for the investigation, sources said.<\/p>\n Both gadgets had earlier been sent to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on August 13. The investigation committee called back the Apple Watch and mobile phone on August 15.<\/p>\n Mir Raza\u2019s family had also expressed concerns over the handling of the gadgets by the NCCIA.<\/p>\n Investigation Officer Siraj Lashari had sent the gadgets to the Punjab Forensic Science Agency for forensic examination.<\/p>\n Earlier, lawyer of slain entrepreneur Mir Raza Ali, Jibran Nasir, has accused the Sindh police and provincial government of protecting those responsible for the murder.<\/p>\n Speaking to media, Jibran Nasir said the investigation team was busy with \u201ctomfoolery\u201d instead of making progress in the case. He said a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) should have been formed by now.<\/p>\n Nasir claimed that the shell recovered from the crime scene had nothing to do with the case.Mir Raza case: Jibran Nasir accuses Sindh government, police of protecting killers<\/p>\n He questioned how an allegedly fake shell could be placed at the crime scene despite the presence of four SHOs.<\/p>\n \u201cThe investigation is being turned into a spectacle and a film is being made,\u201d Nasir said, questioning what the investigation team headed by DIG Aamir Farooqi was doing.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the investigation into the Mir Raza case remains incomplete, with police admitting their failure to trace the suspects and submitting an interim challan before the judicial magistrate.<\/p>\n No person has been nominated as an accused in the interim challan. Sections pertaining to kidnapping, murder and destruction of evidence have been included in the case.<\/p>\n The challan names 53 witnesses, including Mir Raza\u2019s family members, friends and business partners.<\/p>\n According to the interim challan, CCTV footage, a USB and other digital evidence have been made part of the investigation, while statements of different individuals and mobile phone records have also been obtained.<\/p>\n Police are still awaiting forensic reports concerning Mir Raza\u2019s mobile phone, Apple Watch and SIM card data, as well as details of his Binance account. Forensic reports of mobile phones belonging to his business partners are also pending.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
