Lawyer Jibran Nasir, representing the family of slain Mir Raza, has expressed serious concerns over the proceedings of a judicial commission investigating the case, describing the ongoing investigation as \u201czero divided by zero\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking to reporters after the commission\u2019s hearing, lawyer Nasir said they were not interested in repeatedly summoning officials, but wanted the facts surrounding Mir Raza\u2019s case to be established.<\/p>\n He said the Advocate General (AG) Sind and the prosecutor general had not been issued notices by the commission. According to Nasir, while a judge could have told him that a particular question was not necessary, it was incorrect to suggest that lawyers were not allowed to ask questions before the commission.<\/p>\n Jibran Nasir also questioned why information about a bullet shell had allegedly been hidden for 27 days. He said the family only learned the previous day that a ballistic report on the shell had been completed on 10 August.<\/p>\n \u201cThe communication we have with the current investigation team takes place through the media,\u201d Nasir said.<\/p>\n He added that the family had not been informed about an alleged claim that the bullet shell submitted by the company had been tampered with.<\/p>\n Expressing dissatisfaction with the investigation, the lawyer said senior police officers, including those at deputy inspector general and senior superintendent levels, were overseeing the inquiry.<\/p>\n \u201cEveryone can see the different theories they are coming up with. This is a zero divided by zero investigation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He also criticized delays in the proceedings, saying magistrates were repeatedly granting additional time.<\/p>\n Nasir called on the Sindh government to acknowledge in writing if it believed it was unable to investigate the case and to establish a joint investigation team ( JIT).<\/p>\n According to Nasir, the AG had made certain claims to the commission, while the commission said no such statement had been made at the time of the announcement.<\/p>\n He said the commission had also expressed concern that there might be an attempt to prevent its proceedings from continuing.<\/p>\n Jibran Nasir questioned why the AG Sind, whom he described as a senior official, had intervened in the matter.<\/p>\n He also defended his right to question proceedings before the commission, saying it had been established under the 1969 law and that there was no provision preventing lawyers from asking questions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
