Apple has unveiled the iPhone Duo, introducing a new foldable design to its iPhone lineup as the company expands its range of devices with new display, camera and performance features.<\/strong><\/p>\n The iPhone Duo is designed around a foldable form factor that gives users greater flexibility in how they use and position the device. Apple says the new iPhone combines a versatile design with durability while offering software features developed specifically for the foldable format.<\/p>\n The iPhone Duo features a 5.4-inch outer Super Retina XDR display when closed and a 7.6-inch inner Super Retina XDR display when opened. Apple says the inner screen is 50 percent larger than the display on the iPhone 18 Pro Max, giving users more space for multitasking, watching videos and gaming.<\/p>\n Both displays use the same aspect ratio, allowing content to transition between the two screens without significant changes in scale.<\/p>\n The screens also support ProMotion, Always-On functionality and peak outdoor brightness of up to 3,000 nits.<\/p>\n The inner display uses a nano-texture finish designed to reduce glare and reflections while also making the crease less noticeable. Apple has placed a FaceTime camera beneath the inner display so that the screen remains unobstructed when the camera is not being used.<\/p>\n Apple also says the iPhone Duo will support the Apple Pencil with USB-C later this year, allowing users to write notes, sketch and annotate documents on either display.<\/p>\n The foldable phone is built using Grade 5 titanium and features a precision-engineered hinge designed to provide smooth opening and closing. The hinge contains more than 100 components and is designed to support the centre of the display when the phone is fully opened.<\/p>\n The device incorporates internal support structures and ceramic-fibre inserts intended to increase rigidity. Its rear is protected by Ceramic Shield, while Ceramic Shield 2 on the front provides three times greater scratch resistance than the previous generation, according to Apple.<\/p>\n The inner display also features a scratch-resistant coating and a specialised nano-textured cover layer.
