{"id":73882,"date":"2026-09-10T13:00:51","date_gmt":"2026-09-10T13:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/73882"},"modified":"2026-09-10T13:00:52","modified_gmt":"2026-09-10T13:00:52","slug":"metal-gear-creator-moves-to-xbox-after-playstation-cancellation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/73882","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Metal Gear&#8217; creator moves to Xbox after Playstation cancellation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>Legendary Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima said Thursday he had partnered with Microsoft\u2019s Xbox for his next project after its development for the PlayStation console was cancelled by Sony.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kojima, whose pioneering \u201cMetal Gear\u201d spy soldier franchise was a key element of the PlayStation\u2019s success since the 1990s, has been working on a new project, \u201cPhysint\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>However, \u201cin mid-June of this year, we unexpectedly received notice from PlayStation Studios that they would cancel the Physint project\u201d, the 63-year-old posted on X.<\/p>\n<p>PlayStation did not give a reason for cancelling, saying only in an X post Thursday: \u201cAfter careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to step away from collaborating with Kojima Productions on its project Physint.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have spent the last three months searching tirelessly for a new partner,\u201d he said, adding that Xbox and his studio shared a \u201ccommon vision\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Kojima\u2019s post-apocalyptic \u201cDeath Stranding 2\u201d was considered a top contender at last year\u2019s Game Awards in Los Angeles, and \u201cPhysint\u201d has been billed as a return to his spy-game roots.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDevelopment of Physint, our genre-defining action-espionage title, is ongoing and will continue moving forward,\u201d Kojima said.<\/p>\n<p>He did not indicate a release date, or say if the game would be exclusive to the Xbox console.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/metal-gear-creator-moves-to-xbox-after-playstation-cancellation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Legendary Japanese video game creator Hideo Kojima said Thursday he had partnered with Microsoft\u2019s Xbox for his next project after its development for the PlayStation console was cancelled by Sony.
