KARACHI: Police have detained a close acquaintance of the family in connection with the killing of a mother and her three children in Surjani Town, sources told ARY News.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to investigative sources, the detained suspect used to frequently visit the victim family\u2019s house.<\/p>\n Police are investigating whether Mehwish and her children were killed due to a personal grudge involving the suspect, sources said.<\/p>\n The bodies of the mother and her three children were found inside their house in Sector 7-D, Surjani Town, on Monday night. All four victims had injuries to their heads caused by a sharp-edged weapon and a heavy object, according to investigative sources.<\/p>\n The deceased woman was identified as Mehwish, while her children included five-year-old Hasnain, six-year-old Kashmirah and an 18-month-old girl.<\/p>\n The 18-month-old girl was initially shifted to a hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to her injuries.<\/p>\n Police had also started questioning Mehwish\u2019s husband as part of the investigation. According to the husband, he had gone to drop his employer somewhere. He said that when he returned, no one opened the door.<\/p>\n The husband said he repeatedly called out to his wife but received no response.<\/p>\n SSP West Tariq Elahi Mastooi had reached the crime scene after the incident.<\/p>\n Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar had taken notice of the incident and sought an immediate and detailed report from SSP West.<\/p>\n The home minister directed police to investigate the incident from all aspects, collect evidence from the crime scene and determine the reasons behind the killings.<\/p>\n He further directed that immediate action be taken if evidence regarding the involvement of any individual was found and ordered officials to keep him informed about progress in the investigation.<\/p>\n A press conference regarding the murder case of the mother and her three children will be held tomorrow.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
