KARACHI: Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the firing that martyred a Shaheen Force official near the Airport Colony gate in Karachi.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to police, the officials came under fire while patrolling in the limits of Airport Police Station. They had attempted to stop suspicious persons riding a rickshaw and a motorcycle when the suspects opened fire.<\/p>\n A second Shaheen Force official sustained a bullet injury to his arm and was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.<\/p>\n The suspects fled the scene on the rickshaw and motorcycle after the firing.<\/p>\n Police later arrested two suspects identified as Tahir and Azeemullah. One of the arrested suspects was shifted to a hospital in injured condition.<\/p>\n The suspect who fled the scene in a rickshaw was identified as Qaiser, police said.<\/p>\n Earlier, a police officer was killed near Jamali Pul on Super Highway in Karachi.<\/p>\n According to police, the officer was standing near Jamali Pul waiting for a colleague to report for duty as per their routine.<\/p>\n When his colleague arrived, he stepped away to drink water at a nearby ambulance. In the meantime, an unidentified man approached the remaining officer and engaged him in brief conversation before opening fire.<\/p>\n After the officer fell to the ground, the attacker seized his service weapon and fled on a motorcycle with an accomplice.<\/p>\n Police stated that the suspects appeared to have been hiding in wait to target the officer.<\/p>\n The deceased officer sustained five to six gunshot wounds.<\/p>\n The martyred policeman, identified as Zaman, was posted at the Sohrab Goth police station.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
