KARACHI: Umar Khan, an accountant associated with Mir Raza Ali\u2019s business, appeared before the Judicial Commission and answered questions about the business, its financial records and his interactions with Raza and his associates.<\/strong><\/p>\n During the proceedings, the commission asked Khan when he began working with Mir Raza\u2019s business. Khan said he had filed the business\u2019s tax returns in 2024.<\/p>\n He told the commission that financing services had been obtained on July 2, 2026, adding that data was processed to prepare the accounts and financial records.<\/p>\n Khan said he had a meeting at the North Nazimabad branch on July 16.<\/p>\n The commission asked whether he had ever conducted an audit of the business. Khan replied that a full month had not yet been completed and that the financial situation would have become clearer with more time.<\/p>\n He further said that determining the business\u2019s profits was difficult because the available data was incomplete.<\/p>\n The commission also asked Khan whether he had ever seen Mir Raza Ali worried or distressed. Khan said his communication with Raza was primarily through a WhatsApp group.<\/p>\n When asked whether Raza had discussed plans to expand the business, Khan said Raza had spoken to him about catering-related activities.<\/p>\n The commission then questioned Khan about developments following Raza\u2019s disappearance. Asked whether Ahmed had given him any instructions after Raza went missing, Khan said Abdullah had informed him about Raza\u2019s disappearance.<\/p>\n The commission also asked whether Ahmed had contacted him after the Judicial Commission was formed. Khan said he had himself made contact for the purpose of filing tax returns.<\/p>\n Regarding his interaction with police, Khan said his statement was probably recorded on August 22.<\/p>\n During the proceedings, lawyer Jibran Nasir asked Khan whether Mir Raza Ali Finance had been concealing anything from its other partners.<\/p>\n Khan replied that he had always met both partners together and had never met one of them separately.<\/p>\n Khan also described Mir Raza Ali as a person who was not prone to fighting or behaving rudely.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
