PESHAWAR: The body of a girl, identified as Iqra, was found hanging from a tree near Khyber Teaching Hospital, SP Cantt said.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the police officer, the incident does not initially appear to be a suicide. Iqra\u2019s mother was found at the scene in suspicious circumstances, the SP said.<\/p>\n The investigation revealed that the girl was unmarried and pregnant, according to SP Cantt.<\/p>\n The officer said the mother claimed that her daughter had expressed a desire to commit suicide.<\/p>\n However, the mother admitted that she had helped her daughter hang herself from the tree, the SP said.<\/p>\n Police suspect that more people may be involved in the incident.<\/p>\n The police have also obtained CCTV footage of the incident, according to SP Cantt.<\/p>\n The officer said the incident would be investigated fully and on merit.<\/p>\n A similar tragic incident was reported in Nusrat Bhutto Colony in the North Nazimabad neighborhood, where a woman committed suicide after being distressed by comments made by her mother-in-law.<\/p>\n According to the Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police, the woman took her own life by shooting herself with a firearm. Police have since arrived at the scene and gathered evidence.<\/p>\n Authorities added that the woman took the extreme step after becoming disheartened following a domestic argument with her mother-in-law.<\/p>\n The body has been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities, police confirmed.<\/p>\n Investigators have recovered the weapon used in the incident, and further inquiries into the woman\u2019s death are currently underway.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
