The Directorate of Drugs Control, Punjab (DDCP), has issued the medicine stoppage alert, ordering a halt to the sale and use of two batches of a dexamethasone injection after inspectors found that the batches had entered the supply chain before the required quality-control testing had been completed.<\/strong><\/p>\n The alert concerns Injection Davdax 1mL (Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 4mg\/mL), registered under Reg. No. 121545. The affected batches are: DDI132 and DDI133.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n According to the alert No. 140\/2026 of DDC, the batches were released into the supply chain before completion of the required quality-control requirements for batch release, contrary to applicable Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).<\/p>\n The authorities said the quality, safety and efficacy of the affected batches could not be assured while testing and investigation were still pending. The stoppage was therefore described as a precautionary regulatory measure.<\/p>\n Retailers, wholesalers, distributors, healthcare facilities and others holding the specified batches have been directed to immediately stop their sale, supply, dispensing, distribution and use.<\/p>\n Existing stocks should be quarantined, kept separately, and reported to the relevant Drug Inspector or Drug Inspector Distributor\/Health Facility.<\/p>\n Healthcare providers have also been advised to monitor patients who may have received the affected batches and report any suspected adverse drug reactions through the pharmacovigilance system.<\/p>\n Patients who have already received the affected batches and have concerns are advised to contact their treating healthcare professional.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
