RABAT: Morocco\u2019s King Mohammed VI has expressed strong solidarity with Saudi Arabia, saying that \u201cany attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco\u201d while condemning repeated Houthi attacks against the Kingdom and attempts to target Makkah.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to Saudi Gazette<\/a><\/em>, in separate messages to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, King Mohammed VI reaffirmed Morocco\u2019s support for Saudi Arabia\u2019s security, sovereignty and stability.<\/p>\n

The Moroccan king condemned attacks targeting civilian and economic facilities, critical infrastructure, cities and populated areas across Saudi Arabia. He said attempts to target Makkah and Madinah had further strengthened Morocco\u2019s condemnation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAt this delicate moment your country is going through, historical responsibility, religious values and strategic considerations require us all to stand united in defense of rights, sovereignty, security and the holy sites of the Muslim nation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

King Mohammed VI said the attacks were not only an assault on Saudi Arabia, its people and pilgrims but also an affront to the sentiments of more than 1.8 billion Muslims around the world.<\/p>\n

He condemned what he described as \u201ccriminal acts\u201d and held the Houthis and those supporting, financing and arming them responsible.<\/p>\n

The Moroccan monarch stressed that the security and stability of Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council states were linked to Morocco\u2019s own security.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny attack on Saudi Arabia is an attack on Morocco,\u201d he said, adding that supporting Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states was a defense of shared strategic interests.<\/p>\n

King Mohammed VI also reaffirmed Morocco\u2019s support for Saudi Arabia in confronting threats from armed groups and regional powers supporting them. He warned that such actions threatened regional security as well as vital maritime corridors important to the global economy and international navigation.<\/p>\n

He said the continued attacks violated international law and relevant UN resolutions, including UN Security Council Resolution 2216 of 2015 and Resolution 2722 of 2024.<\/p>\n

King Mohammed VI said attacks on civilian areas, economic facilities and holy sites violated international humanitarian law and international conventions and norms, and called for those responsible to be held accountable.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
