ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a proof of life certificate service for pensioners, allowing them to complete the process without having to visit their respective banks every six months.<\/strong><\/p>\n Under the existing procedure, pensioners are required to provide proof that they are alive at regular intervals to continue receiving their pensions. However, many elderly people find it difficult to visit banks due to weakness, illness, disabilities or other constraints.<\/p>\n NADRA\u2019s new service is aimed at easing this difficulty by enabling pensioners to obtain their proof of life certificate through the PakID mobile application, as well as through NADRA registration centres, Union Councils, e-Sahulat franchises and NADRA mobile services across the country.<\/p>\n Speaking to the media, NADRA spokesperson Syed Shabahat Ali said the pension-related process could also be facilitated through the mobile application.<\/p>\n According to the spokesperson, once a pensioner completes the required process and submits an application through the app, the application and relevant data will be transmitted electronically to the concerned pension disbursing authority.<\/p>\n The process can be compared to sending an email: once the user presses the send button, the message is electronically delivered to the intended recipient. Similarly, after completing the required pension-related procedure through the mobile application, the application is electronically forwarded to the relevant authority.<\/p>\n Upon receiving the application, the concerned pension disbursing authority will instruct the relevant bank to transfer the pension amount. The pension payment can then be credited to the pensioner\u2019s designated bank account.<\/p>\n The initiative is expected to make pension-related services more accessible, particularly for elderly pensioners and those who face difficulties travelling to banks or government offices.<\/p>\nPension transfer process<\/h2>\n
