Javed Ahmed Abro, Additional Secretary and focal person of the Sindh Home Department, also attended the proceedings.<\/p>\n<p><div class=\"entry-content-asset videofit\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Karachi: Mir Raza Case Judicial Commission Proceedings Adjourned Until October 2\" width=\"720\" height=\"405\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wParzOg0Btw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" class=\"mce_SELRES_start\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>DSP Siraj Lashari and Kashif Iftikhar, Assistant Chief of Operations at the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC), were also present before the commission.<\/p>\n<p>According to the written order, the commission\u2019s term expired on Sunday, while a request seeking an extension had already been submitted to the Sindh government.<\/p>\n<p>The Home Department\u2019s focal person informed the commission that the Sindh chief minister had approved the extension request. However, the summary has been forwarded to the Sindh Cabinet for a final decision.<\/p>\n<p>The written order said the Sindh Cabinet meeting is expected to take place on October 1, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Justice Omar Sial observed that adjourning the proceedings of Mir Raza Ali case until October 2 would be appropriate.<\/p>\n<p>The commission stated that if the Sindh cabinet decides not to extend its term, no further witnesses will be summoned and the commission will prepare its report based on the statements and evidence recorded so far.<\/p>\n<p>If the cabinet approves an extension, fresh notices will be issued to witnesses, according to the order.<\/p>\n<p>The Mir Raza Aku Judicial Commission proceedings have been adjourned until 10:00am on October 2.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Background of the case<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman and IBA graduate, went missing on July 28, 2026. His body was found the next day in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi, with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n<p>Raza\u2019s family maintained that he had been abducted and murdered, while the initial police investigation reportedly considered the possibility of suicide, creating major controversy.<\/p>\n<p>At his family\u2019s request, a court ordered his exhumation and a second post-mortem. The later medical report concluded that the gunshot entered from the back and exited through the front, and said the findings were inconsistent with suicide.<\/p>\n<p>A judicial commission headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial is now examining the circumstances of his death and possible negligence in the investigation.
