ISLAMABAD: Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has said there can be different views on how to deal with terrorism, but the war against terrorism cannot be compromised or sacrificed for anyone\u2019s politics, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n Responding to a question about his observation that some political elements have a different idea about terrorism, the DG ISPR said different people can have different thinking about dealing with terrorism and there is no issue with that.<\/p>\n He said there was also no problem in discussing how terrorism should be tackled.<\/p>\n Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said the debate on terrorism had been continuing in Pakistan for a long time, and the National Action Plan was formulated as a result of it.<\/p>\n He said Vision Azm-e-Istehkam was also unanimously agreed upon as a result of discussions in Pakistan.<\/p>\n \u201cThe National Action Plan is a consensus document made by politicians, so follow it,\u201d the DG ISPR said.<\/p>\n When asked whether such elements create confusion in the narrative against terrorism, he said questions arise when there is no competence in the response against terrorism and no capacity building.<\/p>\n He said questions also arise whether such behaviour is due to incompetence, difficulty in understanding the issue or a desire to act in such a way.<\/p>\n \u201cIf there are such behaviours, questions will arise. The most important thing is that if there is a state, there is politics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cIf there is a state, there is democracy. If there is a state, there are you and I,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n The DG ISPR said Pakistan faces threats from Indian-sponsored terrorism and that Pakistani soldiers are fighting every day.<\/p>\n He said questions arise when soldiers are fighting every day while other stakeholders do not come forward.<\/p>\n \u201cQuestions arise: why aren\u2019t you fighting? Because you are cowardly,\u201d Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said.<\/p>\n He said the people and government of Pakistan should see and feel these issues.<\/p>\n The DG ISPR made it clear that there would be no compromise on the war against terrorism and that the fight would not stop.<\/p>\n \u201cThe war against terrorism cannot be sacrificed for anyone\u2019s politics,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
