ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a meeting at President House and discussed the overall political and security situation in the country, according to a statement issued after the meeting.<\/strong><\/p>\n The meeting expressed concern over the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n A joint committee has been formed for talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), according to the statement.<\/p>\n A joint delegation of the federal government and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) will meet the PTI leadership tomorrow. The delegation will hold talks with the PTI leadership on the current political situation.<\/p>\n The government delegation includes Mohsin Naqvi, Rana Sanaullah and Ameer Muqam, while the PPP delegation comprises Sherry Rehman, Syed Naveed Qamar and Ejaz Jakhrani.<\/p>\n The meeting also agreed to further strengthen the national resolve against terrorism and stressed the need for effective cooperation among all relevant institutions for peace and stability.<\/p>\n Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n Rana Sanaullah, Sherry Rehman, Saleem Mandviwalla, Sharjeel Memon and Nasir Hussain Shah were also present.<\/p>\n Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan and Adviser to the Prime Minister Tauqeer Shah also attended the meeting.<\/p>\n Earlier, The government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) agreed to hold a meeting tomorrow as contacts between the two sides begin for political talks.<\/p>\n According to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, the government sent him a message yesterday inviting the PTI to a meeting.<\/p>\n Barrister Gohar said the PTI had accepted the invitation in light of the decisions taken during the opposition meeting.<\/p>\n The meeting between the opposition and government delegations will be held tomorrow at 12pm at the office of National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq.<\/p>\n He said both sides would discuss important political issues during the meeting.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
