KARACHI: A meeting of the Judicial Commission probing Mir Raza Ali murder case was held under the chairmanship of Justice Omar Sial at his chamber, where the commission was briefed on the extension of its tenure.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sindh government focal person and Additional Home Secretary Javed Abro attended the meeting and informed Justice Omar Sial that the Sindh cabinet had extended the Mir Raza Ali commission\u2019s tenure.<\/p>\n

The focal person said the commission could continue its proceedings following the extension and that further cabinet approval would not be required for any additional extension of its tenure. A formal notification regarding the extension is expected to be issued shortly.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the commission\u2019s registrar said written questionnaires would be sent to senior police officers today through judicial assistant Tajammul Lodhi, Advocate in Mir Raza Ali case.<\/p>\n

According to the registrar, Lodhi will deliver the questionnaires to the senior police officers and subsequently collect their responses for submission to the commission.<\/p>\n

The commission has also summoned Investigation Officer Siraj Lashari and CPLC representative Kashif for October 5 as part of its ongoing proceedings.<\/p>\n

Mir Raza Ali, a 25-year-old businessman and IBA graduate, went missing on July 28, 2026. His body was found the next day in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Karachi, with a gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Raza\u2019s family maintained that he had been abducted and murdered, while the initial police investigation reportedly considered the possibility of suicide, creating major controversy.<\/p>\n

At his family\u2019s request, a court ordered his exhumation and a second post-mortem. The later medical report concluded that the gunshot entered from the back and exited through the front, and said the findings were inconsistent with suicide.<\/p>\n

A judicial commission headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial is now examining the circumstances of his death and possible negligence in the investigation. Witnesses, police officials, medical personnel and his business associates have been questioned.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
