Renault Group \u200bwill invest more than \u20ac10 billion ($11 billion) in \u200cFrance over the next five years in electric vehicles and more affordable cars, Chief Executive Fran\u00e7ois Provost said on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cOver \u200bthe last five years, we invested \u20ac13 \u200bbillion in France to transform entirely our \u2060industrial footprint to bet on electric, and \u200bover the five coming years, if the social \u200band political context allows it, we will re-invest more than \u20ac10 billion to continue pushing on electric and on \u200bmaking cars more affordable\u201d, Provost said in \u200ban interview on France Inter radio.<\/p>\n Electric cars reached a \u200crecord \u2060of 42% of new car registrations in France in September, with demand boosted by the spike in fuel prices since the start of \u200bthe Iran \u200bwar.<\/p>\n \u201cThe reality \u2060is that today, we produce in France, in the French plants, \u200bmore vehicles than before. In 2025, \u200bwe \u2060produced 500,000 cars in France.
