ISLAMABAD: The government committee has submitted a report to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on its meeting with JUI-F chief Fazal ur Rehman, government sources told ARY News.<\/strong><\/p>\n According to the committee\u2019s report, Fazal ur Rehman is ready to play his role in ending the deadlock in talks and resolving disputes.<\/p>\n Sources said the committee also briefed the prime minister on the conditions put forward by Fazal ur Rehman for playing a conciliatory role.<\/p>\n A special message from Fazal ur Rehman was also conveyed to the prime minister, according to government sources.<\/p>\n The sources said a telephone contact between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Fazal ur Rehman is expected.<\/p>\n Earlier, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazal ur Rahman has set conditions for assuming a mediatory role between the government and opposition amid a deadlock in talks.<\/p>\n According to the sources, both the government and opposition have agreed on Fazal ur Rahman\u2019s name as a potential mediator and have approached him to play a role in resolving the impasse.<\/p>\n The sources said Maulana has informed both sides of his basic conditions for taking on the mediatory role.<\/p>\n The JUI-F chief has told the parties that he would first assess how serious and committed they are to finding a solution to the issues before deciding whether to mediate.<\/p>\n He has asked both sides to respond to his conditions, after which he will decide whether to formally assume the role.<\/p>\n According to the sources, Fazal ur Rahman will proceed with mediation if the government and opposition reach agreement on the basic issues.<\/p>\n He has conveyed to both sides that a way out of the deadlock remains possible if they make a serious and sincere effort and recognize each other\u2019s positions.<\/p>\n Fazal ur Rahman has also warned that if the deadlock persists and force is used to stop the opposition\u2019s long march, it would further complicate efforts to resolve the situation, according to the sources.<\/p>\n A meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Fazlur Rahman is also possible if the JUI-F chief gives the green light to play a mediatory role, the sources added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
