A\u2019ja Wilson\u2019s legacy is cemented in the history books of the WNBA as the Las Vegas Aces star has secured her fifth league Most Valuable Player award, making her the first player in league history to win the award three years in a row.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wilson was voted first-team all-WNBA on 65 of 74 ballots (plus nine second-place votes) from a national panel of sportswriters and broadcasters and accumulated 713 points. Veteran Minnesota Lynx star Kelsey Mitchell finished second with 442 points, followed by Caitlin Clark with 287, Indiana Fever\u2019s Kelsey Mitchell with 171.<\/p>\n

During the 2026 regular season. She was the WNBA\u2019s top scorer at 26.2 points per game and averaged 9.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists (career high) and 1.9 blocks (league best), and ranked at the top of the league in efficiency stats, including Player Efficiency Rating and Win Shares (editor\u2019s note: in earlier versions of this article, her blocks per game was listed as 9.4; that number is her rebound total and one of her Win Shares total). She shot close to 53% from the field and over 40% from three (career high).<\/p>\n

Wilson also claimed the MVP in 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2025, giving her fifth overall \u2013 the most by anyone in WNBA history. Former WNBA star Cynthia Cooper was the only player to win back-to-back \u2013 she was MVP in both 1997 and 1998.<\/p>\n

Swoopes, Leslie and former Australian opal Lauren Jackson all won three MVPs, but Swoopes, Leslie and Russell all won three-peat MVPs. Only Wilson, Bird, Russell and Chamberlain have won three-peat MVPs across any sport.<\/p>\n

She missed helping Team USA at the FIBA World Cup because of a lingering back injury, and she sat out three regular-season games with a leg injury, but Wilson still thrived.<\/p>\n

She was the first player to score 1,000 points in a season twice (she set the single-season record in 2024) as her Aces went for their fourth WNBA title in five years. Game 3 of the best-of-five semifinals is against the expansion Golden State Valkyries.<\/p>\n

Wilson said,<\/strong> \u201cThis is pretty cemented in a lot of different ways. I\u2019m not totally content, but I\u2019m incredibly thankful and blessed that I get to do what I get to do\u2026I\u2019m thankful to be in the same breath as other greats that played all different types of sports.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
