The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Faisal Karim Kundi, has said no official announcement has been made regarding the imposition of an emergency in the province.<\/strong><\/p>\n

He said the situation would become clear after the federal cabinet meeting scheduled for tomorrow.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are prepared for Articles 232 and 234,\u201d the governor said, adding that it was for the federal government to decide which constitutional provision to invoke.<\/p>\n

He said the province\u2019s law and order situation had been shared with the federal government.<\/p>\n

Governor of KP said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had delayed sending Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to the Prime Minister\u2019s House for talks.<\/p>\n

The President of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have discussed the country\u2019s overall political and security situation during a meeting at the President\u2019s House in Islamabad, according to an official statement.<\/p>\n

The two leaders agreed to impose an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).<\/p>\n

The prime minister has convened a federal cabinet meeting for tomorrow, 11 October 2026, where approval will be sought for the imposition of an emergency in KP.<\/p>\n

A session of parliament\u2019s two houses, the National Assembly and the Senate, has also been called on 13 October 2026 to seek approval for the emergency.<\/p>\n

The federal cabinet is expected to approve the imposition of the emergency on Monday.<\/p>\n

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Attorney General, the law and justice minister, Rana Sanaullah, and Senator Ahad Cheema attended the meeting.<\/p>\n

Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, Saleem Mandviwalla and Dr Asim assisted President Zardari during the meeting, according to the statement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
