PESHAWAR: Extraordinary security arrangements taken in Peshawar amid high security alert as the roads leading to Assembly Chowk and the Red Zone have been closed with containers, ARY News reported on Sunday.<\/strong><\/p>\n Heavy contingents of police have also been deployed at Peshawar\u2019s GT Road, Warsik Road, Kohat Road and Pishta Kharra road.<\/p>\n Moreover, containers have been deployed at the entry road from Swat, while mobile phone and Internet services have been suspended in Swabi.<\/p>\n The long march led by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has been staying in Mardan intending to move towards Peshawar instead of Swabi if the emergency proclaimed.<\/p>\n The IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in guidelines to district police officers has directed for security measures to tackle any protest.<\/p>\n \u201cThe miscreants or anti-state elements could damage the properties, the police should ensure security of state or public properties and police stations,\u201d KP police chief said.<\/p>\n IG has said that the demonstrations or illegal gathering should initially be tackled with dialogue. \u201cIn case of the talks failure, the anti-riot squad will act, after which aerial firing and rubber bullets will be used,\u201d he directed.<\/p>\n He also ordered complete video recording and monitoring of protests.<\/p>\n It is to be mentioned here that the PTI in a party meeting last night opposed the governor\u2019s rule and proclamation of emergency in the province.<\/p>\n The PTI\u2019s political and core committees in a statement after a joint session said that the protection of people\u2019s constitutional and democratic rights adding that the party condemns all forms or terrorism. \u201cThe PTI is against terrorists and terrorism,\u201d according to the statement.<\/p>\n The session while lauding the opposition of the governor\u2019s rule from the ANP, JUI and Jamaat Islami said that a joint session will be held again in case of an extraordinary constitutional or executive measure.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
