KARACHI: K-Electric, the sole electricity supplier for Karachi, has advised its consumers to update their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and mobile numbers with the company to qualify for an exemption from advance income tax.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In accordance with the Government of Pakistan\u2019s Finance Act 2021, a 7.5% Advance Income Tax applies to monthly electricity bills exceeding Rs. 25,000 for residential consumers who are not listed on the Federal Board of Revenue\u2019s (FBR) Active Taxpayers List (ATL).<\/p>\n

In a social media post, K-Electric outlined a simple, step-by-step procedure enabling customers to update their records and secure tax relief.<\/p>\n

Step-by-Step Guide to Update CNIC Details<\/strong><\/p>\n

Step 1: Visit the KE Website<\/strong><\/p>\n

Go to the official K-Electric portal at ke.com.pk.<\/p>\n

Step 2: Access the Update Section<\/strong><\/p>\n

On the homepage, navigate through the options and click on \u201cUpdate Customer Details.\u201d<\/p>\n

Step 3: Enter Information<\/strong><\/p>\n

Fill in your valid 13-digit CNIC number and primary mobile contact number in the designated fields.<\/p>\n

Step 4: Submit Request<\/strong><\/p>\n
