Former UFC fighter Tim Kennedy is being treated for injuries following an attack \u200bthat left 20 people dead or \u200cwounded and Kennedy nursing three gunshot wounds in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Reuters reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The \u200bformer U.S. Army Green Beret \u200bis receiving treatment at Walter Reed National \u2060Military Medical Center, per reporting from \u200bNewsweek. He originally sustained the injuries on \u200bSept. 17 during an attack in the South Kivu province.<\/p>\n

Derrick Van Orden, a U.S. Congressman from \u200bWisconsin, provided an update on Kennedy\u2019s \u200bsituation over the weekend on social media, saying \u200che \u2060was \u201cthankful\u201d that Kennedy, 47, was still alive while \u201casking everyone to pray for his healing and that his wonderful family find \u200bPeace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kennedy was \u200breportedly part \u2060of a private security firm, Vectus Global, doing operations in \u200bthe area.<\/p>\n

Kennedy\u2019s record in MMA \u200bwas \u206018-6, with his last match being a loss against Kelvin Gastelum in 2016.<\/p>\n

His biggest \u2060highlight \u200bmoment might have been \u200bhis knockout of Rafael Natal at \u201cUFC: Fight for the \u200bTroops 3\u201d in late 2013.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
