{"id":89351,"date":"2026-10-17T09:02:32","date_gmt":"2026-10-17T09:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/89351"},"modified":"2026-10-17T09:02:34","modified_gmt":"2026-10-17T09:02:34","slug":"khawaja-asif-denies-military-seeking-mineral-licences-in-kp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/89351","title":{"rendered":"Khawaja Asif denies military seeking mineral licences in KP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Saturday clarified that no military institution is among more than 500 applications currently under consideration for mineral licences in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a statement posted on X, Asif shared official figures on mining licences issued in the province, saying that only 482 licences or titles had been granted since the creation of Pakistan until 2010.<\/p>\n<p>According to the defence minister, the number increased to 1,762 by 2020 during Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) provincial governments, rose to 3,962 by February 2024, and currently stands at 4,917.<\/p>\n<p>Of the total licences issued, 4,133 are in settled districts and 784 in the merged districts, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Asif added that the military engineering organization Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) had received only one mining licence during the entire period.
