ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court on Thursday ordered the PIA to submit its reply with regard to the medical facility to the retired employees of the airlines.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A division bench of the FCC headed by Justice Hassan Rizvi heard the case.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe institution should care about the previous services of the retired employees,\u201d Justice Hassan Rizvi said while hearing the case. \u201cThe old employees have served the airline in their best time of age, an institution like the PIA should not discard its old employees in this manner,\u201d Justice Rizvi observed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a fact that the misuse of the medical facility has destroyed the institutions, those involved in fraud should definitely be treated strictly,\u201d the FCC Judge remarked.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople were purchasing perfumes in the name of the medical facility in the past,\u201d the judge said.<\/p>\n

PIA lawyer told the court that the medical facility for the employees has been reviewed and formally streamlined. \u201cThe facility\u2019s amount was earlier 2.5 Lacs per annum, which has been enhanced to Rs. 5 Lac,\u201d lawyer informed.<\/p>\n

The court said that the PIA should try to resolve the issue on the basis of humanitarian grounds.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
