Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said protests in Islamabad must be held after obtaining permission, adding that demonstrations by groups or mobs will not be allowed.<\/strong><\/p>\n Speaking during a visit to the Kashmir Chowk underpass project, Naqvi said the state\u2019s policy was clear and there would be no leniency on the matter.<\/p>\n He said those wishing to stage protests must first obtain permission, adding that protests by groups would not be permitted.<\/p>\n Turning to development projects in the capital, the interior minister said around 80 percent of the work on the Kashmir Chowk underpass had been completed. He said the project would benefit people travelling to Murree and Muzaffarabad.<\/p>\n Naqvi said Islamabad\u2019s master plan had been prepared and people would be pleased when they learned about its details.<\/p>\n He also explained that problems with the underpass project had arisen after a government department broke a road without permission, filled it back in and left. He said the authorities had faced difficulties for two months before getting the work done through contractors.<\/p>\n Regarding F-9 Park, the minister said no construction was taking place there. He said lights would be installed in the park and more trees would be planted.<\/p>\n Naqvi also said land in Islamabad had been encroached upon and would be recovered. He acknowledged that the relevant department had broken the road without permission and said this had also been a mistake on their part.<\/p>\n The interior minister said he had discussed political matters throughout the day and would now focus on Islamabad\u2019s affairs.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
