{"id":94691,"date":"2026-10-30T06:50:01","date_gmt":"2026-10-30T06:50:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/94691"},"modified":"2026-10-30T06:50:03","modified_gmt":"2026-10-30T06:50:03","slug":"police-officer-sentenced-to-death-two-cops-given-life-terms-in-fake-encounter-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsvog.com\/ur\/94691","title":{"rendered":"Police officer sentenced to death, two cops given life terms in fake encounter case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div style=\"font-size:16px;line-height:1.6\">\n<p><strong>KARACHI: A model criminal court in Karachi on Friday sentenced a Shaheen Force police officer to death and handed life imprisonment to two others for killing an innocent citizen in a staged police encounter in Gulistan-i-Jauhar in December 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The court found Shahryar guilty of shooting 26-year-old Amir Husain dead, while his co-accused, Nasir and Faisal, were sentenced to life imprisonment for their involvement in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>The court also directed all three convicts to pay Rs500,000 each as compensation to the victim\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecution, the incident took place on December 27, 2022, when Shaheen Force personnel signalled Amir to stop near Aladdin Park during snap-checking. When he failed to stop, the policemen chased him into a residential apartment complex in Gulistan-i-Jauhar.<\/p>\n<p>The police personnel entered the building and opened fire on Amir inside the residential premises. He died at the scene, while the officers escaped without sustaining any injuries.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"title\" href=\"https:\/\/arynews.tv\/hafiz-naeem-slams-ccd-encounters-calls-them-extrajudicial-killings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Read More: Hafiz Naeem slams CCD encounters<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>According to the FIR, Amir was on his way to buy medicines for his father, who had suffered paralysis. He was riding a motorcycle when police personnel signalled him to stop.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHowever, Husain did not stop and drove his bike inside Noman Avenue. He got off the motorcycle and was heading towards his parents\u2019 house when the policemen opened fire at him,\u201d the FIR stated.<\/p>\n<p>Amir was accompanied by a young girl at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Following the shooting, three police personnel were arrested and a case under Section 302 (premeditated murder) of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered against them. Another FIR was also lodged at the Sharae Faisal police station under terrorism-related charges, on the complaint of the victim\u2019s mother.<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s family maintained that Amir had been deliberately targeted and killed by the police.<\/p>\n<p>His mother told the media that her son worked with his brother at the Karachi Fisheries. \u201cWould anyone go out to commit a robbery while accompanying a little child?\u201d she asked.<\/p>\n<p>An eyewitness also claimed that four police personnel had shot Amir on the stairs of the residential building in front of people present at the scene.
