ISLAMABAD: The wife of former Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leader and ex-senator Mushtaq Ahmed has obtained a divorce from him through a family court in Islamabad, ARY News reported.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Judge Ambreen Iqbal of the Islamabad District and Sessions Courts issued the divorce decree in favor of Humera Tayyiba after hearing the Khula claim filed against former senator Mushtaq Ahmed.<\/p>\n

The court noted that the woman was unwilling to continue her married life with her husband, and all reconciliation efforts had failed.<\/p>\n

In her affidavit, Humera Tayyiba refused to live with her husband and stated her unwillingness to maintain the marital bond.<\/p>\n

Dissolving the nikah on the basis of Khula (wife-initiated divorce), the court ruled that the woman forfeits any claim to her Haq Mehr (dower).<\/p>\n

The family court also directed her to deliver a copy of the divorce decree to her former husband and forward a copy to the respective Union Council (UC) .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
