JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Hamas will be disarmed, declaring that the group would be stripped of its weapons either through diplomatic means or by Israeli military force.
In a televised address, Netanyahu said he had informed the United States of Israel’s intent to demilitarize Hamas and insisted that the task must be accomplished. He told viewers that an Israeli delegation has been ordered to travel to Cairo and expressed hope that hostages would be returned in the coming days.
