WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel has agreed to a preliminary withdrawal line following recent talks aimed at halting hostilities in Gaza.
In his statement, Trump said Hamas has been informed of Israel’s decision, and once Hamas confirms, a ceasefire will take effect immediately, followed by the exchange of hostages and prisoners.
Earlier, Trump had warned Hamas to act swiftly, saying that all proposed terms would be withdrawn if the group delayed its response.
Meanwhile, Egyptian media reported that indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel are expected to continue today and Monday in Cairo.
