ISLAMABAD (Muhammad.Saleem) – Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari has intervened to ease growing tensions between the Sindh and Punjab provincial governments.
According to sources at the Presidency, President Zardari held a telephone conversation with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, discussing the ongoing political strain between the two provinces. The President has reportedly summoned the Interior Minister to Karachi for immediate consultations aimed at reducing the inter-provincial discord.
The move comes amid days of heated verbal exchanges between the administrations of Sindh and Punjab, which have sparked concerns over political stability and cooperation between the two largest provinces of Pakistan.
Presidential aides said the initiative reflects Zardari’s intention to promote political harmony and strengthen federal–provincial coordination at a time of heightened political sensitivities.
