KARACHI (International Desk) – The tropical cyclone “Shakti” in the Arabian Sea has begun to weaken, according to Pakistan’s Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD reported that the cyclone is currently located about 910 kilometers south of Karachi and is expected to further lose strength, transforming into a depression within the next 24 hours.
Winds near the cyclone’s center are blowing at speeds of 80 to 90 kilometers per hour, while light rainfall is likely along the coastal areas of Sindh and Balochistan under its influence.
Authorities have warned that sea conditions will remain rough, and fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into deep waters until October 7.
The system, once a severe weather threat, is now expected to dissipate gradually without making landfall on Pakistan’s coast.
