LAHORE: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamyana has ordered an extensive crackdown on the public display of armed gunmen and the growing menace of ‘Dala Culture’ — a trend promoting intimidation and lawlessness.
Chairing a meeting to review the monthly performance of the Civil Lines and Model Town police divisions, the CCPO directed DIG (Operations) to launch targeted operations against armed groups and individuals promoting such unlawful displays of power.
He also instructed officials to intensify efforts against drug trafficking, emphasizing the need to trace and dismantle larger smuggling networks behind street-level dealers. “There must be no leniency towards drug peddlers. Backtracking cases is essential for long-term results,” he said.
Kamyana further stressed the importance of efficient service delivery at police front desks, urging officers to maintain direct contact with complainants to ensure timely and impartial justice.
To curb street crime, the CCPO ordered enhanced patrolling in hotspot areas and the use of the Hotel Eye surveillance software to monitor suspicious activity. He also directed that preventive security measures be reinforced at banks, commercial centers, and other public places.
The meeting was attended by DIG (Admin) Imran Kishwar, DIG (Investigation) Zeeshan Raza, DIG (Operations) Faisal Kamran, SSP (Investigation) Muhammad Naveed, and other senior officers from the Civil Lines and Model Town divisions.
