Dubai — On the sidelines of GITEX 2025, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for IT and Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, held a series of high-level meetings aimed at advancing bilateral collaboration in technology, digital governance, and innovation.
In a meeting with Omar Suwaina Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary at the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, both sides discussed joint initiatives in AI innovation, digital infrastructure, data governance, and startup ecosystem development. Minister Shaza Fatima highlighted Pakistan’s key initiatives, including the Digital Nation Pakistan Act, the National Data Exchange Layer, and programs supporting a cashless economy, smart governance, and AI integration. The two countries agreed to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, data-driven innovation, and cross-border startup investment.
The Minister also met Massimo Falcioni, Chief Competitiveness Officer at the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, to explore avenues for digital investment, innovation-driven growth, and technology partnerships between Pakistan and the UAE.
In another engagement, Minister Shaza Fatima held discussions with Muneeb Anjum, CEO of AHAD, focusing on strengthening Pakistan’s cybersecurity framework. The talks emphasized digital trust, advanced security solutions, and public-private collaboration to enhance national cyber resilience and boost the country’s innovation ecosystem.
